This is a fascinating little documentary that goes into how Stanley Kubrick used mostly only natural light to film the classic Viet Nam movie Full Metal Jacket (one of my favourites of his). Enjoy!

Another thing to look for is in the training stages, the roads are all marked for driving on the left - it was shot in a disused British gas works!

Ah, good pickup there, Chris! I hadn't noticed that, but I did know that the whole thing was shot in England. I recall seeing this movie while I was still a conscript myself and thinking to myself that I was very lucky I didn't have that kind of intense basic training.
