    A different Vestrahorn Sunset

Sunset at Vestrahorn, in Iceland, a location offering much more than the famous mountain’s silhouette to those willing to explore it. Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters. Thank you for watching, best regards Vieri
  3. Last light at Kimmeridge Bay, in Dorset. I truly love exploring and photographing the ledges at Kimmeridge for detail work, they are so inspiring and I find them always rewarding, with almost any light. I took this photograph during a Workshop One-on-One in Dorset I led in October 2017. Leica SL, Voigtlander 15mm and Formatt-Hitech Firecrest filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri

    Crumbling Cliffs at sunset

The Crumbling Cliffs at Valahnukamol in Iceland are a wonderful source of inspiration, and I love to explore them to find cracks with shapes complementing or mirroring the sea stacks and the clouds. Taken at sunset during a Workshop One-on-One in Iceland in February 2018 with my Leica SL, a Voigtlander 15mm and my Formatt-Hitech Firecrest Ultra filters. Thank you for viewing, best regards Vieri

    Sunset Over Seven Lakes Basin

Went on an 11 day hike across the Bailey Range in Olympic National Park. Forest fires had Washington and Oregon smoke filled and created some unusual colors and clouds. These clouds seemed to mimic the sub-alpine fir silhouette. Capture: Fujifilm X-H1, 1/1000 f/5, iso200 Pixelroom: Luminar 2018

    Sunset.jpg

    From the album: General Experimental

A beautiful sunset made better by the presence of the clouds. A bare sky is often boring and this brings a sense of foreboding to the picture of what will happen next.

    Balloon Sunset

An image shot during a balloon ride, at about 650m height. Olympus E-M10II + Panasonic 8-18mm f2.8-4

    Walk in the Park

Haven't taken many pictures recently, but managed a late afternoon walk in the park today. D7F_0669 D7F_0669 D7F_0669 Still haven't got round to treating myself to a new camera yet, so all shot with a D7000 and AF-S 70-300. 70-300 is probably a strange choice for landscapes, but the deep hood of this lens was probably useful in keeping the flare reasonably controlled better than the shorter hood on my 28-105.

    Dusk Departure to Frankfurt

Condor Airlines Boeing 767-300ER departs from Minneapolis-St. Paul airport at 915pm local time to head back to Frankfurt, Germany. I took this shot last Saturday on one of the longest days of the year. On the composition side, I always struggle how to place the aircraft in the frame when I have an open sky. Comments and constructive ideas always welcome.
  14. The reality of climate change is very real in the Philippines and the immediate effect of this is apparent in the changed weather pattern. In the past, April to May typically bring forth fiery colored sunsets but this has not been the case last year and this year. I am currently vacationing in Bohol (Central Philippines) and as I have done in the past, late afternoon is spent at the beach or at a hillside where I can capture the scenery as the sun sets. The attached photo shows a different kind of sunset. Despite being untypical as it was a cloudy day (again), nature has a way of bringing out different colors, hues and shades that evokes feelings of awe, gratitude and praise. Long after humanity perishes from this earth through its own folly, nature's beauty and majesty will continue, as in a sunset. The photo was taken with a Nikon D500 and a Nikkor 70-200mm f4 at Base ISO 100. Other than size reduction, the photo is straight out of the camera.

    Zebra and sunset

A unique opportunity arose the other day when I had a zebra feeding on a fire break with the sun setting behind it. I used a flash to light him up and get the sky correctly exposed.
