  6. Olympus PEN-F and Oly 75-300/4.8-6.7 II Post processing done in Lightroom and onOne Effects 10.5 Every now and again I like to shoot street with an "nontraditional" set of focal lengths. I actually like doing this because I prefer my subjects to be going about their business and not be aware of me, I feel I get much more honest responses people that way. This way is no better or worse, just what I prefer to do and how I like to work. 1. Waiting 2. watching for the bus 3. trying to make it legal 4. 3 seniors 5. at the corner

  10. To celebrate my newly chipped lenses shown here, http://www.fotozones.com/live/index.php/topic/57878-the-family-is-complete/ I went out to capture a few quick Fairbanks street scenes today at -35°C. This is the first really cold weather this winter, with temperatures dipping to about -40°C - some places in Alaska have seen down towards -50°C over the last few days. (Images best viewed large, image data in EXIF). Smoke columns show up really well. Fortunately it is not cold enough for it to cause dense ice fog. Exposure got on the hot side, so I may need to check adjustment of the aperture lever on the 135mm f/2.8 AI-S lens (now -P) : #1 Street Scenes, first with 28mm f/2.8 AI-S (now P): #2 Then with 135mm: #3 All bundled up in good clothing (135mm is handy across the street): #4 A couple walking along the same street, but something does not seem right here. Can you spot it? #5 Right, thin sneakers as footwear, bare hands, and no mittens or gloves in sight for the male. What are they up to, and how long before he freezes off his fingers? Ahh, selfie of course. This is Fairbanks' most photographed sign. Perhaps also making a live broadcast? #6 Dwindling light at the Museum of the North: #7 #8 And finally the view from there: #9
  11. A series of street images shot during a recent visit to Cologne. Olympus E-M10 + Olympus 25mm f1.8 (#1 and #2) + Panasonic 12-32mm f3.5-5.6 (#3 and #4) 1. 2. 3. 4.
  12. Street scenes from the Hohenzollern bridge of Cologne/Germany. As in many other cities couples attach "love locks" to the bridge as a symbol of their love. Olympus E-M10 + Olympus 25mm f1.8. Please view large.
  13. A series of images shot yesterday in Amsterdam before visiting an exhibition of Vivian Maier's pictures (amazing stuff!). 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7.
  14. Sometimes you encounter people who express very clear they don't want to be photographed. Like the man in this image. Sometimes it pays off to be a little cheeky and press the shutter anyway. What would you have done in this situation?
  15. Image shot at the parking lot where I park my own scooter each working day.
  16. This one begged to be shot in 16:9. Live view with digital level and a lens with negligible distortion (Olympus 25mm f1.8) is a must for scenes like this.

  22. Last year I participated in Joe's PAW challenge and found it a demanding but rewarding experience creating 52 infrared images. Fon's has taken over and has a inspirational collective weekly challenge running. Olivier one of the photographers I most admire here has a wonderful 52 week portrait thread inspired by the PAW challenge. This thread is intended to commit me to post 52 images of my home town in 2013. edit: I will complete this project off site.... I give my sincere thanks to everyone who has commented on the images. Your support has been invaluable to me, and very much appreciated, thank you one and all. Best Regards Bez
