  1. A few from a day out to the beach. Getting a bit more of a feel for the 16 f/2.8 and liking it. Beach33 Beach34 Beach32 I guess it is a bit odd mixing colour and b&w in the series - unfortunately, only shot the colour one as jpeg, so not so good for converting.
  2. Image shot at the beach of Zoutelande/Holland. Olympus E-M10 + Panasonic 12-32mm

    Winter Beach

Really need to make more time to take photographs - and remember to take a camera with me. Untitled Looking towards Melbourne from Brighton Beach. Shot with an iPhone. The detail in the sand looks like a bit over processed to me, but I do tend to find that the phone struggles with soil type pictures (which I tend to shoot a lot of for work).

From the beach in Del Mar, California. I sorta like it. It isn't super hard to get shots like this, but you have to be patient and the lighting needs to cooperate. It was a bit muted outside that day.
  5. While on holiday I was playing around with the Art filters on my Olympus E-M10. This image was shot - from the balcony of my hotel room - with the Key Line filter. Just for fun Please view at full size.

Nearly 20 yrs ago I came to the Mexican Caribbean - Cancun - to spend a couple of weeks with my new wife This week we just spent a few days in Akumal, 100 kms south of Cancun, away from the commercial touristy locations. I rented an apartment ... <click to see them large> the view from the balcony the place has a wonderful little restaurant away from to much light pollution near the archeological location of Tulum After the crowds of Tulum took a detour to a secluded beach, the solitude was very welcome, I counted less than 10 people on the beach. This location was recommended by a guard than came to talk to me while I was doing some night shots at the beach, the guards are looking for turtles, if they see one depositing their eggs the location is marked and tagged, useful also to notify people walking on the sand, otherwise it's easy to step on the nest. A storm to the north, rain didn't reach our location a bit of fun Thanks for looking

    Sola scene

Just couldn't resist so I had to ask my GF to wait while I captured the light this afternoon.
  11. Today was the penultimate day of the summer school holidays here. I took my son and his friend down to the beach for a couple of hours and while they were frolicking in the surf I set about tripping the Olympus OM-D for a few clicks. Click them to view enlarged. Two lasses head out for a swim. This little guy was on his way to the water park (see the yellow wrist band?) but I think he wanted to go to the big pool with the crazy waves instead. My architectural effort got a bit more colour than I was expecting. This fella looked so smooth I think he would slide up poles. Are those pyjama shorts? Am I missing a trend amongst the youth? I opted to crop this one square. Not sure if it works... A spoil sport. Portuguese Man o' War (aka a blue bottle). These guys wash up whenever there is an on shore wind during summer. When the tentacles touch your skin you're in for a nasty sting. A spoiled sport. The remains of a Mini convertible sand sculpture. There are a group of unemployed dudes who build these sand sculptures next to the city's piers and appreciators of their art are encouraged to donate a buck or two. All shots with the Olympus OM-D E-M5 and 14-45mm & 45-175mm Panasonic zoom lenses.
