This year the internet has begun changing and all around the world people’s attention has been fixed on the harmful influence of social media (which, if you think about it, is really just one enormous forum).

More nature? Or more gear? 60mm F2.8 Olympus
So I did it anyway:  I bought a the 60mm f2.8 Olympus macro lens, when I said it was not going to happen anytime soon.  I can see where this lens gets such good reviews.  I have still not systematically reviewed my macro lenses, but this one has some really special characteristics.  So, a few more photos of "nature" using this new lens. I like this lens much better than the 60mm Sigma.

I think I really like this lens.

The Littlest MFT Camera... In The World
I thought I would take some time out for myself to go and play with a new, old camera I got recently, but because of all the software dramas of the past fortnight, has sat on my desk looking expectantly at me like a rescue puppy might. The camera in question is the late 2013 Panasonic GM1 and 12-32mm kit lens. This is a Micro Four Thirds camera.

Baby Woodpecker
It is the season for baby birds here in Minnesota.  During a walk around White Bear Lake last weekend my wife and I heard the distinctive sounds of hungry young birds, and sure enough I spotted this little Downy Woodpecker poking its head out waiting for dad to feed him.  We went back to the same White Birch tree two days later, and the little ones had already left their nest.
