Very enjoyable day spent at the Redoubt, a Napoleonic period fort in the old port of Harwich UK, with our delightful model Sarah-Louise.

This was my first ever successful motion blur panning shot. Baboons out where I am are quite skittish and so are often seen on the run especially when approached by the vehicle so you have a little bit of time to prepare. I was not quite sure whether to keep it colour or not as the whole image was initially just a few slightly different shades of brown.

      Shot with a Canon 7D mkii, 150-600mm Sigma C lense at 600mm, f9.0, ISO 100, 1\20

When I went from my D2X to my D3 it was quite a difference in both IQ and what I could shoot or not, now that I've got the D800E the difference is HUGE and I just can't wait to get my boat out on the sea and the summer to arrive. I'm more than ready for it, with my brand new D800E, the 17-35 2.8, a sturdy tripod and my Big Stopper and the graduated nd filters from Lee. That's ALL I ever need! ;-)

Last year I participated in Joe's PAW challenge and found it a demanding but rewarding experience creating 52 infrared images.
Fon's has taken over and has a inspirational collective weekly challenge running.
Olivier one of the photographers I most admire here has a wonderful 52 week portrait thread inspired by the PAW challenge.

This thread is intended to commit me to post 52 images of my home town in 2013.
