I've been getting into the habit of shooting rooms in one point perspectives lately. I think it looks better than the typically angled view you find in many real estate photographs. It's not always easy to find ways to make this work, so this morning I thought I would see what I could create using this perspective in my new home and using just the little Fujifilm X100 in B&W mode. Let me know what you think.

i like it.  i'm not sure it works from the buyer's perspective since i don't get a sense of the size of the room or a layout of the house in most of the pictures without piecing the set together.  but if your goal is real estate photography as art or documenting life at home, then it looks great.  #4 with the tv and couch gives me the best idea of the space and layout of the room.  2, 6 & 8 are my favorite artistic shots.

Thanks Beth. Yes, it wouldn't be suitable from a real estate advertising point of view if showing flow is the aim of the images. I do offer these types of shots in that line of work often enough. Some shots just work well enough for that.

Interestingly when working for Airbnb (the company itself) they only want this type of shot - it's specified in their guide for photographers. Architects also mostly prefer this style.

perhaps because an airbnb rental is more of a lifestyle sell than a permanent home sale.
