The Queen Is Dead

We all knew this day would come, but it still pierces one with shock to learn of the passing of such a well beloved and enduring monarch, HRH Queen Elizabeth. 

 

At this time I would like to personally express my condolences to all our British and Commonwealth members here on Fotozones at this very sad time. May God lift you up and strengthen you all as the United Kingdom enters a brave new era of its sovereignty.

Thanks, Dallas, she was working up to the last 48 hours, receiving the resignation of one Prime Minister and formally appointing our third female PM. An inspiration.

A truly remarkable and irreplaceable figurehead for the British way of life. I've been watching some of the TV coverage from a number of different news channels during the day and the adoration of the Queen is plain to see. I grew up in a very British oriented part of South Africa and to be honest it's like we've lost a member of our own family here. 

 

King Charles has some very large shoes to fill and I can only hope that he (and Prince William) will be able to continue to bring Britain together for as many generations as HRH did.
