Rail Yard

Some more from the weekend walk about.  After wandering around Docklands for a bit I headed up onto the La Trobe Street bridge wondering what the view would be like.  Initially I was disappointed as i saw it had suicide-proof fence (mesh with wires spaced at less than 10mm (3/8")), but on a closer look there were occasional small holes cut in at about eye level - perfect for photographers and trainspotters!

Rail Yard 1 - north from La Trobe St

Rail Yard 2 - south from La Trobe St towards Southern Cross station

Rail Yard 3 - similar to #2, but after dark.

#3 is interesting as it reminds me of a picture I saw some years ago that was the first time I saw multi-exposure stacked HDR images.  This one, single RAW image with a bit of highlights and shadows sliders - things have come a long way.

All shot with Fuji X-E3, lens either Fuji 16 f/2.8 or Laowa 65 f/2.8.

Great photos, Chris. I like the last one in the series.

So nice to see a clean railway line. You'd gag if you saw what ours look like. :(

I have not logged into fotozones for a looong time
my photography has been rather abandoned since covid

anyhow

What is it about train tracks that are so attractive ?
The lines in #1 are wonderful, I thin it can make a great large print

HDR on #3 :) yeah , love the modern sensors , I do remember spending a long time taking multiple exposure and running  them through who knows how many applications to get some so so results, quite a far cry from today's  couple of sliders and done !
