A pile of ice cubes left over after a party....

Ice1

A challenging subject to light and shoot.

Ice2

Also difficult to pick a composition that works.

All shot with Fuji X-E3 and Laowa 65 f/2.8 macro.

But then you find a little character that looks like that scene from the Star Wars movies where Han Solo gets frozen into carbonite.

Fun fact: I have not watched a single Star Wars movie, ever (and I was 9 when the first one came out).

The original three aren’t too bad, but the rest are a bit over the top.  Like many modern blockbuster movies, stories seem to take second place to special effects in the later movies.

I haven’t been in a cinema for almost 20 years now. However, I would like to see the new Top Gun movie on a proper big screen, I believe it is quite incredibly filmed and all real, no CGI.

It is a terrific movie, the flying scenes are amazing.

You do need to see the first movie first, because the stories mesh together and you would miss a lot of the issues in the second if you had not seen the first recently.

I was a big fan of the original and have seen it a few times. Maybe a refresher viewing would be good before we go see the new one. Thanks Anthony!
