Trip to the beach

A few from a day out to the beach.  Getting a bit more of a feel for the 16 f/2.8 and liking it.

I guess it is a bit odd mixing colour and b&w in the series - unfortunately, only shot the colour one as jpeg, so not so good for converting.

Nice beach! You won't see that sort of beach where I live. Got to drive a long way before you get to deserted beaches.

Before lunch on New Years Day, and with a forecast of high 30’s.  it doesn’t take much walking away from the car parks and patrolled beaches to get away from the crowds here, especially the ocean beaches.

Great photos! And the deserted beaches are something amazing. Although I especially like that these beaches are clean and people did not have time to pollute them with garbage and plastic. It surprises me that many people leave their garbage behind on the beach or in the woods during weekend trips. After all, this could later turn into a global environmental catastrophe. And I understand that such situations are possible in developing countries. The average salary in the US is $40,000 a year, and trash bins are installed wherever possible. It is a prosperous country where people still do not know how to protect the environment, which is very sad.

The south coast of Australia is lucky as the Southern Ocean currents don’t pass anywhere populated so don’t wash other peoples waste onto the beaches.

Even if your local community doesn’t litter, somewhere like East coast USA has ocean currents that circulate past four continents and rubbish from any one of them can wash up on your beach.

Cool pictures! Thanks for sharing. Where is this beach located? Is it in the East of Australia?
I will travel there this year after finishing my business here in Europe. It will take some time, but I hope I will be free by the beginning of July. But maybe I will also travel a bit in Europe with the new 9€ ticket from db fahrplan. I know the lines are too big, but the opportunity is still very nice for me since I do not have much money left.
And then I am going to go to India and from India to Oceania and then to Australia. It’s my life’s dream to visit this place, and I want to do it either way.

The pictures are Phillip Island, about 90 minutes drive south east of Melbourne.  It will be a bit cold and windy in July.

There is quite a bit to choose from along the east coast of Australia, both in climate and landscape.  You are also looking at US size distances, visiting the east coast of Australia is a bit like visiting the east coast of the USA, imagine a trip taking in New York to Miami and stops in between (Australia’s east coast between Melbourne and Cairns is actually a bit further than that!). Make sure you have plenty of time or else focus on just a small bit.
