The color 

 

For me, color takes a lot out of the poetry of photography.

There are certainly some nice colours to be seen, but you do see so well in black & white.

I agree with what Chris has said - both points! :)

 

For me, the natural colours of the vegitation and the rocks lend themselves well to the black and white treament and B&W so nicely gets rid of the ever ongoing problem of the bright red anoraks and wind cheaters of the people in the images!
