My debut as a photojournalist

A photojournalist friend of mine here in my town had to take a break and asked me to replace her, a long time ago.
It turns out that exactly that day the mayor of a city close to mine was murdered and I went off to the crime scene together with the journalist, in a car falling apart and in the rain. Very risky situation.
The photo ended up on the first page of the next day.
Made with positive film on a Nikon F4 and Nikkor 80-200mm f / 2.8 AF-D.

It's not my thing either Dallas. Too much adrenaline and agressiveness. I'd rather work for National Geographic. I used a negative film, not positive.

Pretty gruesome. While I love photojournalism I don’t think I would be able to make these kinds of images without it damaging something within me. I’ve seen my share of violence (you all know where I live) but I don’t want to recall any of it. Ever.
