Time For A Redesign - Your Suggestions Are Wanted

I have some time on my hands this coming week and would like to do a bit of a spring cleaning (er, summer cleaning) of the site's basic layout. Added functionality will be coming in a soon to be released software update, but I am more concerned with how I can make FZ better from an interface and user perspective. I can't promise to implement every suggestion, but I am certainly very interested to hear how you use FZ and what you might like to see changed about it, so let's use this thread as a discussion centre for those ideas.

Looking forward to hearing what you'd all like to see here in 2020.

I haven’t seen any other forum that looks as good as here.  I can’t think of anything that currently needs to be batter.

Please place a “Start New Topic” button on the portal, to alleviate the need to delve into the menus!

Thank you so much, Chris! I really appreciate that feedback.

There's one on every page, Mike. See below (your items that appear in this menu may be fewer than mine):

First click the Create item.

Then select Topic and you should get a pop-up window asking you which board you want to post it into. Like this:

Hope this helps?

Oops, thanks Dallas, obviously that didn’t quite sit in the correct recess of my brain! 😥

It's not an obvious thing, for sure. These Invision developers do have some quirky interfaces. Actually, there are a bunch of other not-so-obvious features that I should probably make a little video about.

Dallas,

I'm old and stupid, so what I'm asking for may already exist and I just haven't realized it yet.

I'd like a convenient way to call up all of my previously posted images.

Robert

I shoot film. That's film. F...i....l....m. You remember film don't you? It was in all the papers.

I doubt you are stupid, Robert. :)

Click where the arrow is pointing in this screenshot:

That will show you all your attachments. If you want to repost them into any new post you can do that within the posting box using the "Insert Photos" box seen on the bottom right of that area. :)

To see all your posts just click on your profile and one of the tabs shows all the posts you have ever made.

Dallas,

Thanks for the reply, but now the question becomes "how do I get this drop-down menu to appear?" I don't see " content" anywhere.

I'm sorry to be a pain in the ass, but this stuff is completely non-intuitive to me. I'm sure our 6 year old grandchildren could navigate this stuff, but I'm lost.

Top right, click on your user name and that should show the menu for you.

At the moment I’m quite liking the new FZ, radically different ain’t it. 😊
Just realised I was viewing the site in portrait orientation, once back in landscape a familiar scene returns, hey ho!
