This palace was the summer residence of the Russian tsars. The interior was almost completely destroyed in WWII but is now beautifully reconstructed.
Soviet archivists had managed to document a fair amount of the interior before the war, which proved of great importance in reconstructing the palace.

Thanks Dallas. Yes, that's all gold ornate. And it's a lot of it.

 

And also outside 😉

I'm pretty sure in its heyday all the brown decorations on the facade were also gold plated.
