I always hankered for a Porsche but never achieved it. Closest I got was a BMW 635i.

Too low for me these days, not that I would want to pay the service charges.

Nice picture.

Still trying.

NO, No, no !! that's around 25 years older than mine, looks to be authentic 2.7 RS, perhaps in the Porsche Museum ? M471 refers to Lightweight rather than Touring version IIRC ..

Mine is '97 Carrera S, widebody 3.6 Litre with some realistic lightweighting .. rear seat / harness delete, race harnesses, GT3 seats, RS rear screen and carpet set, RS door cards. Also RS engine mounts, short shift & gear knob, Bilstein B8s, 18" Hollow Spokes ..

Interior before door cards, shifter ..

On Display at Althorp House (Princess Diana's ancestral home) .. (sorry about the Boxster)

Prior to the 993 I had an '88 Highline BMW M635CSI, delightful car with that glorious 24V DOHC straight six out of the M1 supercar .. only engine I've heard to match the air cooled flat six with the VarioRam on short pipes !

Oh, BTW, that's a RUF CTR2 front PU, Turbo S engine lid with the biplane spoiler ..

Here's an arty shot on a wet day (in more or less standard trim ) on the driveway in front of the oak wood ..

If only I could drive ! (Laid up, broken fibula .. ;( )

cheers, Maurice

Ah, sorry for the mistake, Maurice. I thought you had an older car. Yours is still very desirable, for sure. I love the color.

So is Jenny doubling as chauffeur now? ;) Hope your leg mends soon. Still can't believe you did the entire safari (and then some) on a broken leg without a cast or brace!.

Yes. It's an original 2.7 RS, in the Porsche Museum.

No worries, Dallas ! Wouldn't mind an older car, but this one is glorious ! It is Zenith Blue, only introduced in '97, so fairly unusual.

Jennie took me to Fracture Clinic monday, but I'm a terrible passenger .. drove home from Heathrow myself, but tried to use the ride-on mower yesterday with my fracture boot on, nearly put it through the greenhouse ! Did a lap using a crutch on the pedals before retiring back to the sun lounger in disgrace .. ;(

C'est la vie .. cheers, Maurice

Hi Vivion, thought I spotted the corporate look. Those change hands for £500K or so depending on provenance, that one you wouldn't dare ask !

If you see a silver 993 RS clone (very low, big wing) around Luxembourg, say hi to Jon from me .. he's an expat Yorkshireman who comes to Silverstone Classic most years as a family reunion. I run the 993 Register here and have staged a few displays there ..

Here's a much rarer car - the road-legal version of the 911 GT1.
