Superb! I really like the strength of the composition and the feeling of triumph it conveys.

I know that mountain.  This is an exceptional photograph.

Thanks for your generous comment Anthony.

I consider this a bit of a cheat shot really as I was standing in the town when the clouds parted giving a view of the mountain top but I only had a 50mm lens on the camera, so this is a heavy crop for composition. Not ideal and I'll not be able to print a large image.

Very nice mood and composition. I really like the B&W conversion and the tonalities in it.

Very Nice! Is the spike at the top part of the actual mountain? Has to be very tall.

Flatland Charlie

Nikon cameras & a few Nikkor lenses, dozen or so

Photo with an attitude!

I think its a radio mast on top of the restaurant and cable car station Charles.

Great shot Mike.

The clouds do a good job of hiding and camouflaging the extent of the man made infrastructure on top of the peak.

So there is a roadway to the top, I'd never considered that form the looks of it.

No Charles, just the cable car.

It is an excellent capture, but I wonder how it would look with a little color (was it desaturated, or just a very overcast day that eliminated the color?).  Either way, I would play with adding color, as an artistic expt. Note that according to a fellow presenting on compositing, this is often the way compositers do it because it is too hard to adjust the colors of the different images to look the same, so they just desat and add color in from scratch. :)
