A bug's worst nightmare...

Recommended Posts

This guy has been hanging around for a couple of days, so bug hunting must be good around my place. I'd expect that this is the last thing many bugs have seen, given that this mantis was quite a large one.

Quick hand-held 11-shot focus stack - it was warm and it is very much alive and was moving its mouth parts and definitely looking at the camera.

Fuji X-T2, Zeiss Touit 2,8/50 Makro. plus 16mm extension tube.

Awesome shot Alan! There is not one bug here! But I am guessing it could be the 12 deg weather here.:):)

A life time ago whilst serving in Singapore we used to tie a similar creature to our mosquito nets, never had any trouble from the mozzies after doing that but it was creepy! Ours were bright green and about 4” long. :D
