The Aurora Borealis has been on display here for a number of nights over the last week, but we've also been getting some Autumn moisture which makes viewing the lights a bit of a challenge.  A couple nights ago I hoped the incoming storm would hold off long enough to let me see the lights for a while, but that wasn't to be.  Of course that didn't stop me from shooting photos ;)  If you click this image up, you might be able to see the start of some green and pink tones to the right, which was the first evidence of the aurora, but with all the lightning flashes, my eyes couldn't detect the activity.  Heavy rain started right after this shot, so I didn't get many photos that evening, but the more I look at this one, the more I like it!

Nice pic of a totally strange to me phenomenon.

The stars look nice too.

This could be called The Road that leads to Havoc.

Thank you for sharing.

Very fortunate. I've seen a zillion Aurora shots, but never seen anything quite like this shot. Truly excellent result.

Thanks a bunch, Alan!  The result I got here was really an unexpected surprise!

Dark on dark...I like it.  I'd print this one.

I don't print very many of my images, but this one will be on the wall before long!  Thanks Keith!

We think similarly, as I wanted to call it Highway to Hell, but that goat trail isn't quite a highway ;)  Thank you!

Very nice! I think this deserves a spot in the Inspiration gallery. :)

Thanks Dallas!  I appreciate your election to post it there :)

Love the subtleness of the clouds and lightning. I think I would crop in to empathize that more, although I understand that showing everything exemplifies the prairies quite well.
