3 nominations this week ...

#1 The first image of Simone's "Wintry stream". I have seldom a water shot that intense and lively ... very very nice work

post-6553-0-36832200-1420397252_thumb.jp

#2 STS posted some from Death Valley which are all worth looking at in detail but the fourth image of this series appeals most to me

#3 Armando took the opportunity and used available resources in a very enjoyable way ... Great model shot!

Lars Hansen's Cloud Stream, here, for its beautiful evocation of a late evening wintry landscape.  The reflection in the stream and the diagonal line leading us through the frame really make this image.

edit on big machine

Two of Ron's but esp. The great riverpano by olivier. Not the chosen one. The graphical cracks in the ice. Very subtle.

I am touched that my pinhole selfie edit made it to the selection. Thank you Fons. Of my pictures this week the nutcracker is by far the best IMO and I feel I managed to express a lot of emotion through the pictures in general. So many. I posted only very few.

Thank you, Andreas for selecting "Last Light", and thank you Ron for your nomination, despite the differences of opinion about its darkness. The quality and diversity of the nominated images were really impressive and they all made for great viewing.

And thanks Akira and Bill for your comments - most appreciated.
