A couple of bugs...

Recommended Posts

These are working really well, Petter!  Careful alignment of focus plane and subject gives a good illusion of greater dof.  I'm surprised about the first one taken at 1/125 and no flash according to exif.  Did you use a tripod?  Perhaps the second one at 1/250 and flash was hand held?

The first shot was just for testing my "new" D700 (yes, I finally went FX)

Second shot was with my trusty old D300 with AF-D 105mm and a 1.4x extender.

Here I also tested a new ringflash from Meike with iTTL:

Always handheld when shooting bugs.

All images are stunning, but the second one stands out to me.  I guess it is a happy marriage of great shooting technique and careful post process.  D300 is proved to still be going strong!
