Winter tyres should be mandatory in any country in which snow occurs ...

Indeed. We always use studded snow tires in the winter. Al season radials just don't cut it.

Pistils of Chinese peony fluorescing in UV.

This is how they look in visible light.

Predictably, Fons was first with a magnolia shot, but they are just starting to bloom around here.

[bLOG] Wow! Wow! Wow! Great & Greatest entries

Back from the Hospital after three weeks, today also UPSsed in my 1.4/24G which also was in repair with a bad mid-range-autofocussing-issue.

I will try to set this early summer / late spring light into motion with the 1.4/24G

Thank you so much for the many great entries.

Frank

Sorry I wasn't aware of that, Frank.  Take care of yourself.  Hope you'll be full-fledged speed demon with your new 24/1.4 soon!

Very nice painterly quality. I am so looking forward to the new 1,2/58mm Nikon patended a while ago.

I want to have it as the 90% lens on my D4X:

The hospial held some near-death-experience for me, which made me sharper, more foccused and rich. Crazy how things ca go.

The 1.4/24G is only repaired not exchanged, so it is not a NEW one but my good old lovely reporting tool which until now showed its best performance on the D800E.

Sorry I wasn't aware of that, Frank.  Take care of yourself.  Hope you'll be full-fledged speed demon with your new 24/1.4 soon!

Nice series, especially the first pic. There is sth fresh and clean to it...

On the last, try a square crop, the OOF lady in red (left edge) is disturbing.
