Peekaboo Mallard

Recommended Posts

Guest Foveola

This mallard drake was landing on the ice this morning. I have always liked the peekaboo type pose, but getting the wings just right and still allowing the head/eye to show can be a bit of a challenge

D4 600VR f/5.6 1/2000s ISO 800

Advice and comments always appreciated.

Very nice - like the water droplets dropping from the beak and on the belly

This fellow was captured several years ago in October.  It was a fairly dim day, so fill flash to help brighten things up a bit.  Background colors from the fall leaves.
