A few from Angola

Recommended Posts

Hello! This is my first picture post - couldn't postpone it anymore - and these were taken last year

on a road leading to a sanctuary on the Kwanza river shore, about 120 km outside Luanda.

Had, of course, to include some birds. :)

Comments are welcome and appreciated.

Great to have some images from a near neighbour. The last shot of the giant grasshopper is really nice

The last one is fantastic! I love beetles they are little living machines, 200 million years of evolution at their best!

Thanks for all your nice comments :)

Dallas: I didn't had all my gear with me here at the time, so the birds were taken with the old Sigma 50-500 and the macros with the 105 f:2.8 VR.

Got it all now and is already being prepared - pilled up... ;) - for next week. See you Sunday :)

Cheers

I've started my malaria meds (mefliam) yesterday already - also have a big pile of stuff in my office ready to be packed for my flight on Saturday. Doesn't help that I have a charity shoot on this Friday. ::)

The repetition in those butterflies is nice, but the grasshopper steals the show here. That is one attention grabber. Right on the spot that one.

Excellent shots Frederico,

The butterflies and the grasshopper really stand out. Perfect use of DOF to isolate and add focus to the subject. Exposure is right on.

The background in #4 looks a little rough

Best Regards,

Mark

Last shot of the grasshopper is totally 'bad-ass' - love it!

Thanks Ann!

This is exactly that: just an appetizer! ;)

We are looking forward to meeting you and the rest for the Safarians as well.

I'm starting to feel some "travel anxiety" building up, but it's more intense this time. Hope it's a good sign  ;D

I wish you a safe and relaxed journey (yours is a lot longer than ours) and... see you in Joburg!!!
