"Ravensbrück was the Nazi regime's central concentra- tion camp for women. It is located in northern Germany, ~90 km (~56 mi) north of Berlin near the village of Fürstenberg/Havel. It is far less known than the much bigger concentration camps like Dachau and Auschwitz. It was built for all sorts of women who were not to the liking of the Nazi regime such as so-cal- led "anti-socials", Jehova's Witnesses, "race defilers", criminals, Roma and Sinti, as well as political prisoners, especially Communists."
