As the title says, Sony is going to display the newest E-mount lenses at CP+ (Camera & Photo Imaging Show) 2013 held in Yokohama from Jan. 31 to Feb. 3.

The new E-mount lenses are, as reported on dpreview.com, 18-200 power zoom and 20/2.8 pancake. Sony will also display the new Alpha mount Planar 50/1.4. Here is a Japanese news of this topic (20/2.8 lens is not depicted):

It should be safe to assumu that 20/2.8 is the "thin snapshot lens" mentioned in Sony's roadmap of the E-mount lenses.

One thing that puzzles me is that Sony seems to stick to the prime lenses whose focal lengths are the same as the ones for the full frame even if the E-mount is for APS-C format, namely, 20/2.8, 24/1.8, 35/1.8 and 50/1.8, rather than offering the same FOV as that of the traditional focal lengths for the full frame format. The only exceptions are the initial poor performers 16/2.8. 30/3.5 is of the totally new focal length so far as the macro lenses are concerned.

Sony also offers dedicated APS-C format Alpha mount lenses in the same concept: 50/1.8 and 85/2.8.

There is a full frame E-mount camcorder VG900, but all of the above mentioned lenses offer the coverage of APS-C format.

I don't understand Sony's concept for the primes...
