I was looking for a different way to portray Paris. Your thoughts? By the way, not sure if there was an Oh One through Six or even an Eight. Richard

Richard - I can only speak for myself - but for me this doesnt work as the stuff in the background is neither OOF nor in focus - and it confuses my eyes.

Yup. I think the concept is good. Perhaps when the tower is in sunlight, if you ever give it another go 'round.

I think the blurry tower breaks an otherwise good idea

Elsa, Rags and Armando: thanks for looking and commenting. It's appreciated. Here's a somewhat similar shot taken on a sunny day and shot at f6.3 vs 4.0 on the same EM-5. The sunshine seems to make the greatest difference. I'm not sure if the Tower, given its smallness in the frame and its lattice work structure would appear very sharp if shot at f8 or 11. But, I am willing to go back and try again if forced. :D Richard

It's different indeed. The second one is better already wrt DOF.

IMO you could have hidden the building to the left behind the statue's head and also focussed a bit farther away, rendering the statue a bit less focussed, but the subject is the tower anyway (i guess).

Technically much better!

I prefer the composition of the first
