NG website isn't loading properly. Either it takes awful lot of time to open pages or even worse, flat out refuses to load the home page!

I am using Opera 11.

Same experience with Firefox (various versions). Apparently this trouble started yesterday and has grown worse since then.

Thank God it's not just me.

I have been on the phone to my ISP several times today, and I am trying to do traceroutes to various servers so they can analyse them and advise. I am having problems with quite a few US servers, so I don't know if it is related to our server or something on the US network.

We did have scheduled downtime for maintenance to the UPS at the data centre earlier today, so I wonder if that isn't causing something else to slow down? DNS servers perhaps.

Yeah, silly me, I only realized the error in the traceorute (I am behind the UMTS firewall of my provider) after I pressed post and of course then it took half a century to get in again...

I ran a tracert from the office. Same experience - page loading gets “stuck”—sometimes before text appears, sometimes after. On the windows laptop things seem to work better than on the iPad.

I am moving this thread outside of the paywall so that the hosts can see I am not yanking their chain. If you are also experiencing issues intermittently like me, please post a traceroute in this thread. Hopefully we can get it resolved soon.

NG at present is like a drowning person coming to the surface and gasps for air, then goes under again. Most of this morning the site is effectively dead.

Took me nearly 10 minutes to attach this screenshot between the death spells ....

This is the traceroute of Death.

I am trying to get to the bottom of the problem. Server management has asked me to install some kind of trace program onto my computer, but it doesn't work on Snow Leopard.
