Members may now switch to the Dark Side skin if they are finding the default blue skin a bit too garish. To do this, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Change Theme. Select Dark Side and you should be good to go.

Please note that this theme is not 100% complete yet and I am still tweaking parts of it where the CSS is a bit tricky to hack. For the most part you should be able to use it though.

Once the theme is completed it will become a subscriber only theme, so you may not want to get used to it if you have no intention of subscribing in the future.

The next theme I am doing will become the new default. It won't be too different from the current default, other than the blues will be gone and the masthead will look the same as the Dark Side theme.

Oh yes, if anyone here would like to have a go at helping me jazz up the site logo please get in touch. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I my graphic design skills are not quite in sync with the idea. :)

Ron, you probably haven't cleared your browser cache and deleted cookies from old sessions. Those sessions held in cache will conflict with the new software, so unless they are removed you will experience some problems with functionality.

That must have been the problem, working now, at least on the Macbook.

When getting a list from 'View New Content" it's very difficult, for me, to read the black on dark gray Titles, the white byline with names etc pops right in my face.
All else is nice :)

Ya, Erik, this is something I still need to work on.

It's very difficult to work with text and links on a dark background, which is why I am not a huge fan of dark skins. You change the CSS thinking it looks good on one template then you discover that it absolutely sucks on another. I'm having a lot of difficulty with precisely this on the search results templates, which use the CSS in enough of a different way to cause problems everywhere else.

I'm most probably going to lighten the background up quite a bit so that those black bits of text are not that difficult to see. I also find that glossy monitors are harder to read this theme on than the matt ones. [sigh]

I'd love to switch away from the default skin, but the "Change Theme" link isn't working for me. Click, and nothing happens. Anyone else experiencing this? I use the Mozilla Firefox browser, if that matters.
