I was going to guess it was a champagne cork headed for the camera at 120 mph.

Thanks for the comments Carolyn..... My good friend Michael Kan has graciously sent me his D3 when he received his D4... He is offering to sell it to me at a very very good price and it is in "like new" condition.... At this point I would rather invest in some more glass than a new expensive camera..... BUT.... my aging, and wore out D700 is showing signs a fatigue and is over it's 100,000 shutter actuation life expectancy.... I figured a good D3 was the answer.... it is built like a tank has a life expectancy of 300,000 images...good iso and great image quality.... after shooting with it for the weekend, I am sold that it IS the answer that I was looking for....next comes the 200 f/2 :biggrin:
