Could it be an alternative for flickr, photobucket etc...



Notification about the renewal of my Picturetown

Thank you for using my Picturetown.

my Picturetown will be reborn with a new name and a new look as the free image-sharing and storage service, "NIKON IMAGE SPACE", on January 28, 2013.

This service makes it easy for camera enthusiasts to upload, view, organize, and share their photos and movies of once-in-a-lifetime moments with greater convenience through sequential operation, which is achieved by high speed operation of the system, an intuitive user interface (UI), a clear window layout, and a simple operation flow.

Nikon will continue to offer users ways to enjoy their digital images through "NIKON IMAGE SPACE". Please look forward to the launch on January 28.

Transfer of current User Accounts to "NIKON IMAGE SPACE"

Users are not required to do anything, and will be able to continue using their current account.

Yes. I have an account in My Picturetown. I've been quite pleased with it and the new name does not make it any worse. You get 2 GB for free and more with a paid account. I had to switch to a paid account when the terms of the service were changed last year (distribution of full resolution pictures requires now a paid account). Paid account gives you also other additional features.

Update: I have my account now on the new site. My old Gold account was replaced by a "Special" account having the same features as the Gold account (20 GB storage, capability to protect folders, capability to share full resolution pictures etc.). And the big news is the fact that the new account is free of charge.
