Has any one tried this on a V1 with the adapter. The range would seem to be quite nice as a one lens travel solution.

Hmm...so long as 48.6mm/f3.5 is wide and fast enough for you maybe? By the way, if you are interested in FT1 adapter, I can bring mine on Sunday for your to try.

No, but having tried the 17-35mm I find that it is not wide enough. It will depend on your style and subject.

Something else to consider. One of the joys of the One series is their small size. When coupled with the FT1 you will soon be back to a medium sized camera bag with F mount lenses.

Patrick, I would agree with you. I bought my FT1 to shoot the Venus in Transit using my Ais 300/4.5 to make it 810/4.5 equivalent. Live view and the total absense of any mechanical moving part (even the shutter) are other fortes of the "1" system.

That said, I found 35/1.8G and FT1 combo makes a really nice fast mid-tele on V1 or J1 without sacrificing the compactness of the system. You are confined to the central focus point, but the lens focuses as fast as on D7000 and the AF accuracy is more reliable.
