Our Opinion:

Many NG members have used this lens, which although it has been discontinued for some time, can still occasionally be found for sale on eBay. The prices fetched often exceed $2,000 which is indicative of how highly regarded the lens is amongst those in the know, so to speak. You will be hard pressed to find a NG member who after having used the lens, doesn't give it the highest praise possible.

There are several discussions on our forum related to this lens, including threads on how to repair them and even change the mount from one camera brand to another. To follow are links to the most relevant of these threads on Nikongear.com.
